A letter from our Founder
In 2013, I imagined shopping for local, and natural-made skincare and makeup products in an environment catered to a modern lifestyle. At the time, few Canadian brands were known, and farmer's markets were the only outlet for makers of the quality green products I was seeking.
I set about to pioneer a path to normalize clean beauty by creating a state-of-the-art shopping experience that connects amazing Canadian makers with like minded customers. Today, portia-ella continues to lead the clean beauty movement and supports over 95% Canadian female-led brands with unwavering sustainable practices.
portia-ella started as my tool to contribute to positive change. Fast forward to 2020, it is now the tool of a growing community of intentional people contributing to positive change by weaving our daily actions into the well-being of all lives on this planet.

Julie's dream begins to take shape as relationships are formed, and market research and testing begins.

The portia-ella e-commerce store is launched with 7 brands on board.

Flagship studio comes to life
The opening of our first studio in Winnipeg, MB is a huge success. The market demands more studios across Canada.
2019
The second studio is born
Second studio location opens it’s doors. as well as the portia-ella HQ in Kelowna, BC. The team expands and grows.

Positivity amidst transition
Transition allowed us to go internally and reimagine our brand, connections, expansions, and projects.
